Signed in the summer of 2025 to reinforce the right flank of the defence, the full-back was born in Zell am See, Austria, to a Bosnian family and was formed in the Red Bull Salzburg system.
He turned professional with feeder club FC Liefering in 2019 and spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Wolfsberger AC before making his Austrian Bundesliga debut for Salzburg in August 2022.
He established himself as a first-choice right-back, won the domestic championship and extended his contract in January 2023, before a loan spell at Olympique de Marseille in the second half of 2024/25.
Dedic joined SL Benfica in the close season of 2025 and made his competitive debut on 31 July in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira against Sporting CP, lifting his first trophy as an Encarnado in his very first match. A former youth international, he made his senior debut for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022 and has since passed thirty caps.
In June 2026 he was named in his country's squad for the FIFA World Cup, featuring in the opening group match against Canada on 12 June.
