Signed on 1 September 2025 on a five-year contract for a fee of 20 million euros plus bonuses, the Belgium international winger arrived at the Estádio da Luz from Sevilla.

Born in Asse, Lukébakio was formed at RSC Anderlecht, where he made his professional debut before loan spells at Toulouse and Charleroi. He then joined Watford, and while on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf he wrote his name into Bundesliga history in November 2018 by becoming the first player to score three goals past Manuel Neuer in a single match against Bayern Munich.

A long spell at Hertha BSC followed, interrupted by a loan to Wolfsburg, before he moved to Spain with Sevilla in 2023 and spent two seasons in LaLiga.

In his first campaign in Lisbon he was a regular presence on the right flank, contributing goals and assists across more than twenty official matches.

A full Belgium international, Lukébakio has more than thirty caps and featured at UEFA Euro 2024 and in the Red Devils' 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
