Description
The Estádio Municipal de Arouca is the home of F.C. Arouca, in the small mountain town of Arouca in the Aveiro district. It was built in 2006, when the club was still playing regional football in the Aveiro leagues, and belongs to the municipality rather than the club.
A renovation and enlargement completed in July 2013 brought the ground up to professional standards in time for Arouca's first ever season in the Primeira Liga. It remains one of the smallest and most rural grounds in the Portuguese top flight, with a single main stand and open terracing, set against the hills of the Serra da Freita.
