Valentino Lazaro was born on 24 March 1996 in Graz, Austria, to an Angolan father and a Greek mother. He was formed at Red Bull Salzburg's academy, winning several Austrian titles with the senior side, before moving to Hertha Berlin in 2017 and then to Inter Milan in 2019. Loan spells at Newcastle United and Borussia Mönchengladbach followed.

Benfica took him on loan from Inter on 31 August 2021 for the 2021/22 season. A right-sided defender and wing-back, he was used in rotation through the campaign under Jorge Jesus and then Nélson Veríssimo, competing with Gilberto for the position and appearing in the league, the domestic cups and the Champions League. He did not play for Benfica in 2020/21.

He returned to Inter at the end of the loan before joining Torino, initially on loan and then permanently, and later moved to Al Ain. He is an Austria international.
