Born in Viseu and raised at the Caixa Futebol Campus, the centre-back is one of the purest products of SL Benfica's formation, having won the UEFA Youth League with the Under-19s in 2021/22.

Promoted to the first team at the start of 2022/23, he seized his opportunity at just 18 years of age, becoming a fixture in central defence as the Eagles claimed their first Primeira Liga title in four years. Repeatedly voted the competition's Defender of the Month, he was named the Primeira Liga's Best Defender for that season and has since added the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira in 2023 and 2025 and the Taça da Liga in 2024/25, remaining a cornerstone of the side through the unbeaten 2025/26 league campaign.

Composed on the ball and admired for his reading of the game, anticipation and positional sense, he combines maturity with genuine leadership qualities.

An international at Under-16 to Under-19 level, where he captained the side, Silva was called up to the senior Portugal squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and became his country's youngest ever player at the tournament at 19 years and one month. He was also part of the squad that won the 2025 UEFA Nations League.
