Signed as a reinforcement in July 2024, the Thessaloniki-born striker arrived at the Estádio da Luz on a five-year contract from AZ Alkmaar for a reported fee of 18 million euros plus add-ons.

Pavlidis began his professional career in Germany with VfL Bochum in 2016, spent time on loan at Borussia Dortmund II and then moved to the Netherlands with Willem II. His breakthrough came at AZ Alkmaar, where he scored prolifically and, in 2023/24, became the first player in Eredivisie history to score on each of the first nine matchdays on his way to sharing the competition's top scorer award with 29 goals.

He settled quickly in Lisbon, scoring a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona in January 2025 and then striking three times at the Estádio do Dragão against FC Porto. In 2025/26 he was Benfica's top scorer, with 22 goals in the Primeira Liga and 30 across all competitions.

His honours at the club include the Taça da Liga and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.

A full Greece international since 2019, he has passed 50 caps and famously scored twice in the historic Nations League victory away to England in October 2024.
