Description
Real Madrid's home in the Chamartín district of Madrid, opened on 14 December 1947 and named after the club president who drove its construction. It is among the most storied grounds in the game, having staged the 1982 World Cup final, the 1964 European Championship final and four European Cup / Champions League finals.
Between 2019 and 2024 it was rebuilt around the existing bowl at a cost of roughly 1.76 billion euros, gaining a retractable roof, a retractable pitch, a wrapped metallic facade and year-round event capability. It reopened progressively from December 2023; current seated capacity is reported at about 83,000.
