Real Madrid Club de Fútbol is a Spanish professional football club founded in 1902 in Madrid as Madrid Football Club, receiving the royal title "Real" from King Alfonso XIII in 1920. It has played at the Santiago Bernabéu since 1947, a stadium recently rebuilt into a fully retractable-roof arena seating over 80,000.

Real Madrid is the most decorated club in European competition, with a record fifteen European Cup/Champions League titles, including the first five editions between 1956 and 1960. Domestically it holds a record thirty-six La Liga championships along with twenty Copa del Rey wins, and it has never been relegated from the Spanish top division. Home kits have been all white since the club's earliest years, giving rise to the nickname Los Blancos. The club continues to compete in La Liga.
