Soualiho Meïté was raised in the Paris region and began his career at Auxerre, before spells with Lille, Zulte Waregem, Monaco, Bordeaux, Torino and AC Milan. Benfica signed him from Torino in July 2021.

A tall, physical defensive midfielder, he was brought in as a ball-winner in front of the back four, but he spent much of his Benfica contract out on loan.

He was not part of the first-team plans for 2024/25 and did not feature during the first half of the season. In January 2025 he returned to PAOK in Greece on loan for the remainder of the campaign, where he again played regularly in central midfield.

He represented France through the youth ranks but has not been capped at senior level.
