Arthur Cabral came through Ceará in Brazil and moved on to Palmeiras before making his name in Europe at Basel, where he was voted the Swiss Super League's player of the year in 2020/21. A move to Fiorentina followed, and Benfica signed him in August 2023 on a five-year contract.

He is a right-footed centre-forward who plays as a conventional number nine, working off the shoulder of the last defender and finishing inside the box.

He stayed for the whole of 2024/25 but spent most of it as a substitute, making 34 appearances in all competitions for a return of seven goals, only two of which came in the Primeira Liga. He won the Taça da Liga and was a runner-up in the Taça de Portugal before joining Botafogo shortly after the season ended.

He has been called up by Brazil but remains uncapped at senior level.
