Jean-Clair Todibo was born on 30 December 1999 in Cayenne, French Guiana. He was formed in the Paris region before joining Toulouse, where he made his Ligue 1 debut, and moved to Barcelona in early 2019. A loan to Schalke followed in the second half of 2019/20.

Benfica took him on loan from Barcelona on 5 October 2020, with the deal running to the end of the 2020/21 season. The spell was short and largely unsuccessful: the centre-back made only a handful of appearances under Jorge Jesus and the loan was cut short, with Todibo leaving for Nice at the start of February 2021. He did not feature for Benfica in 2021/22.

He went on to establish himself at Nice, where he became a France international, before joining West Ham United in 2024.
