SL Benfica - Samuel Dahl, #26
CompareShare Card
Born in Västerås, the Sweden international arrived at Benfica in February 2025 on loan from AS Roma before making the move permanent that summer.
Dahl was formed at Västerås SK and moved to AIK in 2020, before joining Örebro SK in February 2022, where he made 42 appearances over two seasons. A transfer to Djurgårdens IF in July 2023 proved the turning point: handed his chance in the side, he quickly became a first-choice defender and attracted attention across Europe.
Roma signed him in July 2024, but opportunities in Serie A were scarce and he moved to the Estádio da Luz the following winter, making an immediate impression with his attacking output from the left flank. Benfica secured him on a permanent deal in June 2025.
He won the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira in 2025 and became a regular starter in the 2025/26 campaign, able to operate at left-back or as a left winger.
Dahl progressed through Sweden's youth ranks from U17 to U21 and made his senior debut in January 2024.
