About the Club
Galatasaray Spor Kulübü was founded in Istanbul in 1905 by students of the Galatasaray High School, and the football section quickly became the flagship of what grew into a large multi-sport institution. The club plays its home matches at Rams Park in the Sarıyer district, a modern arena opened in 2011 that replaced the celebrated Ali Sami Yen Stadium.
Domestically Galatasaray is the most decorated side in Turkey, with 26 Süper Lig championships as well as a long list of Turkish Cup and Super Cup successes. Its greatest moment came in 1999-2000, when the team beat Arsenal on penalties to lift the UEFA Cup and then defeated Real Madrid to win the UEFA Super Cup, remaining the only Turkish club to have won a major European trophy.
The club competes in the Süper Lig and secured a fourth consecutive title in the 2025-26 season.
