About the Club
Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio was founded on 17 October 1907 in Bergamo, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, and takes its name from the huntress of Greek myth. The club plays at its historic ground in the city, long known as the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia and redeveloped in recent years under commercial naming.

For most of its history Atalanta was a modest provincial side, holding the record for the most Serie A seasons played by a club from a city that is not a regional capital. Its first major trophy was the Coppa Italia in 1963. The appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini in 2016 transformed the team into one of Europe's most attacking sides, bringing repeated Champions League qualification, a quarter-final run in 2020, and a first European title in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen. Atalanta plays in Serie A.
