About the Club
ACF Fiorentina was formed in Florence in August 1926 through a merger of two local clubs and adopted its distinctive purple kit in 1928, giving rise to the nickname La Viola. The club has won two Serie A titles and six Coppa Italia, and reached the European Cup final in 1957. Refounded in 2002 after bankruptcy, it plays at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
