Al-Nassr Football Club was founded in Riyadh on 24 October 1955 by the Al-Ja'ba brothers, and has grown into one of the biggest institutions in Saudi football. The club plays in yellow and blue, colours said to evoke the desert sands and the waters around the Arabian Peninsula, and is widely known as Al-Alami, "The Global One".

Domestically Al-Nassr have won eleven Saudi top-flight titles, the most recent in 2025-26, along with six King's Cups, three Crown Prince's Cups, three Federation Cups and two Saudi Super Cups. Continentally they completed a rare Asian double in 1998, lifting the Asian Cup Winners' Cup and the Asian Super Cup, and they have twice won the GCC Champions League and taken the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup. They were runners-up in the AFC Champions League in 2020 and in the AFC Champions League Two in 2026.

The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in December 2022 transformed the club's global profile and was followed by signings such as Sadio Mane, Joao Felix, Kingsley Coman and Inigo Martinez. Under Jorge Jesus they ended a title drought stretching back to 2018-19, and the Colombian forward Jhon Duran has joined Benfica on loan from the Riyadh club.
