Home to Moreirense F.C., this ground stands in Moreira de Cónegos, a textile town in the municipality of Guimarães. It was built in 2002 after back-to-back promotions carried the club into the Primeira Liga for the first time, and is named after a local benefactor.
Soon after opening it was briefly closed while the floodlight pylons and safety arrangements were inspected, before being cleared for professional football. Compact and unpretentious, with a capacity a little over six thousand, it has hosted Moreirense's repeated top-flight campaigns and a League Cup-winning side. In 2025 the club announced plans for a new 10,000-seat stadium, targeted for completion around 2030.
