Bryan Cristante is an Italian defensive midfielder who came through AC Milan's academy and made his senior debut there. Benfica signed him in 2014, but he made limited first-team appearances and was loaned to Palermo in 2015-16, Pescara in 2016 and then Atalanta, who signed him permanently in 2017. His registration therefore passed out of Benfica's control before the 2018-19 season. On 8 June 2018 he joined Roma on loan from Atalanta with an obligation to buy, and the transfer was made permanent on 28 February 2019.
