Ricardo Ribeiro was born in Alcobaça on 23 May 2003 and joined Benfica's academy in 2016, coming through the under-15, under-17 and under-19 sides before reaching the under-23 team in 2021. He signed a professional contract in September 2020 and renewed in April 2023.

A left-footed goalkeeper of 1.86 m, he was attached to the Benfica B squad from February 2023 and wore the number 98. His senior involvement was slight, since he was generally third or fourth choice in the reserve set-up: he played once in the Liga Portugal 2 in 2023/24 and three times in 2025/26. He was never called up by the first team.

Having spent a decade at the club, he left Benfica in the summer of 2026 for União de Santarém.
