Tomás Alexandre Rente de Azevedo, known as Azi, was born in Setúbal on 12 October 2000. A central midfielder, he came through a string of clubs on the south bank of the Tagus before being formed at Vitória de Setúbal, from where Benfica signed him on 27 July 2019.

At Seixal he was used almost exclusively by the under-23 side in the Liga Revelação, where he played more than sixty matches. His involvement with Benfica B was marginal: four appearances in Liga Portugal 2, the first of them on 7 February 2021 in a 2-0 win over Casa Pia. He never featured for the first team.

Azi left Benfica in August 2023, joining Amora FC in the deal that took Diogo Ferreira in the opposite direction. He later played for Lusitânia dos Açores and, from 2025, for FC Montana in the Bulgarian First League, leaving the Bulgarian club as a free agent in mid-2026. He was capped by Portugal at under-18 level.
