Ricardo Jorge Martins Teixeira, born in Porto, was formed at Alfa AC and then at Leixões, where he made his professional debut in the Liga Portugal 2 on 22 May 2021 and won the division's Defender of the Month award for August 2022.

Benfica signed him on 2 September 2022 for a reported 300,000 euros, on a contract to 2026, with the intention of developing him through the B team. A tall, right-footed centre-back, he found opportunities limited in his first season at the Seixal, making four appearances for Benfica B in 2022-23 as the reserve side struggled in the second tier.

He never appeared for the first team. In July 2023 he was loaned back to Leixões for the season, returning to Benfica B for the first half of 2024-25 without breaking through.

In January 2025 his contract was terminated by mutual agreement and he joined Académica de Coimbra in the Liga 3, where he subsequently signed an extension.
