Helton Brant Aleixo Leite began his career in Brazil with Grêmio before spells at J. Malucelli, Boa Esporte, Ipatinga and Criciúma. He established himself at Botafogo between 2014 and 2018, then moved to Portugal with Boavista, where he was named the Primeira Liga's best goalkeeper for the months of January and February 2020.

On 8 August 2020 Leite agreed a five-year contract with Benfica. He arrived as understudy to Odysseas Vlachodimos and was used chiefly in the Taça de Portugal and Taça da Liga, deputising in the league when required.

In 2022/23 he remained the nominal second choice behind Vlachodimos under Roger Schmidt but played no competitive first-team football, with Samuel Soares also promoted from the academy. With his route to games closed, Benfica agreed his departure and on 20 January 2023 he joined Turkish club Antalyaspor. After eighteen months there he signed a two-year deal with Deportivo de La Coruña in August 2024, and later returned to Brazil with Vila Nova. He also holds Portuguese citizenship.
