Gonçalo Loureiro was born on 1 February 2000 and came through Benfica's academy as a centre-back, standing 1.86 metres. He was part of the B team squad and was registered with the club for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

He joined Penafiel in August 2021 and has since had a nomadic career, taking in Académica, Covilhã, Spartakos Kitiou in Cyprus and Oliveirense.
