Diogo Garrido was born on 25 November 1999 and was a goalkeeper in Benfica's academy, standing 1.86 metres. He was registered with the B team for the 2019-20 season.

He never played for the first team and left in August 2020 for Sintrense, subsequently turning out for Moncarapachense and Caldas in the Portuguese lower divisions before moving to Luxembourg with Una Strassen in 2024.
