Celestino "CJ" dos Santos was born on 24 August 2000 and came through Benfica's academy as a goalkeeper, standing 1.91 metres. He was part of the B team set-up and was registered with the club for the 2019-20 season.

Without a senior appearance for Benfica, he left in February 2022 for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, and in December 2024 was selected by the expansion side San Diego FC. He has represented Cape Verde at international level.
