Born in Albufeira and formed in the Algarve at CB Loulé and CB Albufeira, Veloso joined Benfica's academy in 2017 and signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2022.
Rated among the finest talents of his generation, he was named by The Guardian in September 2022 as one of the best young players in world football, praised for his tactical intelligence, physical strength and ability to set the tempo and arrive in the box.
He has since built his senior experience with Benfica B in Liga Portugal 2 while training with the first team, and was part of the squad that won the 2025 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.
A regular Portugal youth international, he has been capped from Under-16 through to Under-20 level.
