Diogo André Santos Nascimento was born in Leiria on 2 November 2002. A diminutive central midfielder at 1.66 m, he passed through the academies of Sporting CP and Belenenses before joining Benfica in 2014, signing his first professional contract in July 2019 and renewing in July 2021.

His senior record at Benfica was slight. Wearing the number 79, he made only seven appearances for Benfica B in Liga Portugal 2 across the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, three in the first and four in the second, without scoring, and was never called up by the first team.

He left Benfica in June 2023 for FC Vizela, where his career transformed: 75 competitive matches and, in 2024/25, recognition as both Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season in Liga Portugal 2. Olympiacos signed him in July 2025 for a reported four million euros, and he was loaned to Rio Ave in 2026. He has represented Portugal at under-18, under-20 and under-21 level.
