Tyronne Efe Ebuehi was born in Haarlem to a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother, and chose to represent Nigeria at international level. He joined ADO Den Haag in 2013 from the amateur club HFC EDO and made his Eredivisie debut in August 2014, becoming a regular over four seasons and earning a place in Nigeria's squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Benfica signed him on a five-year contract on 19 May 2018, but his time in Lisbon was defined by injury. A serious knee problem cost him the whole of the 2018/19 campaign, and he never established himself in the first team, playing instead for Benfica B and spending time on loan at Twente and then at Venezia in Serie A during 2021/22.

With his contract entering its final year and no place in Roger Schmidt's plans, Benfica transferred him permanently to Empoli on 5 July 2022 on a deal running to June 2025. He went on to make regular Serie A appearances in Tuscany, the settled run of football that had eluded him in Portugal.
