Ola John is a Liberian-born Dutch left winger who made his name at FC Twente, with whom he played from 2010. Benfica signed him on 24 May 2012 for about 9.1 million euros on a five-year deal, but he struggled for a regular place and was loaned out to Hamburger SV, Reading, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Deportivo de La Coruña. He won one senior cap for the Netherlands in February 2013. On 21 July 2018 he left Benfica and signed a three-year contract with Vitória de Guimarães, later playing for Al-Arabi.
