Mihailo Ristić was born in Bijeljina and developed at Red Star Belgrade, with whom he won two Serbian SuperLiga titles. Spells at Krasnodar, Sparta Prague on loan and Montpellier followed, and he joined Benfica on a free transfer on 26 May 2022.
A left-footed full-back who could also operate as a left wing-back, he was used mainly as cover during his time in Lisbon.
He played only a marginal role in 2023/24, making a single league appearance in the opening rounds before leaving for Celta Vigo on 1 September 2023.
He won the Primeira Liga in 2022/23 and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira in 2023 with Benfica, and has won nine caps for Serbia since making his debut in October 2020.
