About the Club
SK Slavia Prague dates from 1892 and is, with rivals Sparta, one of the two great institutions of Czech football. The club is based in the Vršovice district of Prague and plays at the Fortuna Arena, a modern ground holding around 19,000 spectators.
Slavia collected thirteen Czechoslovak league championships and has added a further nine titles since the Czech Republic became independent, together with several Czech Cups. Its most celebrated international achievement remains the Mitropa Cup of 1938, then the leading club competition in central Europe.
The modern side has re-established itself on the continental stage, reaching the Champions League group phase and enjoying deep runs in the Europa League. Playing in red and white halved shirts that give rise to the nickname Sešívaní, the Stitched Ones, Slavia competes in the Czech First League.
