Tottenham Hotspur was formed on 5 September 1882 by a group of schoolboys in north London, adopting its present name two years later. Since 2019 the club has played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a 62,850-seat arena built on the site of its historic White Hart Lane home.

Spurs have won the English league twice, in 1951 and 1961, the latter as part of the first league and FA Cup double of the twentieth century. Eight FA Cups and four League Cups sit alongside a pioneering European record: victory in the 1963 Cup Winners' Cup made Tottenham the first British club to lift a European trophy, and further continental success came in the UEFA Cup and, in 2025, the Europa League. The side also reached the 2019 Champions League final.

Nicknamed the Lilywhites for their white shirts, Tottenham compete in the Premier League.
