Fußball-Club Bayern München was founded on 27 February 1900 in the Bavarian capital and has grown into the most successful club in German football. Since 2005 it has played at the Allianz Arena, a distinctive illuminated stadium in the north of Munich holding roughly 75,000 spectators, having previously used the Olympiastadion.

Bayern's golden age began in the 1970s with Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller, when the club won three consecutive European Cups. It has since accumulated a record number of German championships, including eleven Bundesliga titles in a row between 2013 and 2023, along with a record tally of DFB-Pokal victories and six European Cup or Champions League triumphs, the most recent as part of the 2020 treble. Bayern plays in the Bundesliga.
