GNK Dinamo Zagreb was founded on 9 June 1945 in Zagreb, succeeding the pre-war club Građanski, and has played at Stadion Maksimir since 1948. The club is the most successful side in Croatian football, with 26 Croatian First League titles, 18 Croatian Cups and eight Croatian Super Cups. In the Yugoslav era it won nine national championships and eight Yugoslav Cups, and it lifted the 1966–67 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, for decades the only European trophy won by a Yugoslav club.
