Sport Arronches e Benfica was founded on 1 April 1939 in Arronches, district of Portalegre, and plays at the Estádio Municipal Francisco Palmeiro. Promoted as runner-up of the AF Portalegre district league, the club returned to the Campeonato de Portugal for 2024-25, competing in Série A of the first phase. It subsequently withdrew from the competition ahead of the 2025-26 season, citing an absence of financial guarantees.
