Description

Ibrox has been home to Rangers since 1899. It is also the site of two of British football's worst disasters: the collapse of a wooden terrace during a Scotland-England match in 1902, which killed 25 people, and the crush on Stairway 13 after an Old Firm derby in 1971, in which 66 people died.

The 1971 tragedy prompted a complete redesign between 1978 and 1981, when the terracing was replaced by all-seated stands modelled on German grounds. The Archibald Leitch main stand facade survives and is a listed building.

The modern capacity is 51,700, making it one of the largest club grounds in the United Kingdom.
