Reale Arena

<p>Opened in 1993 as the Estadio de Anoeta, the ground is the home of Real Sociedad. For years it was disliked by supporters for the athletics track that separated the stands from the pitch.</p><p>Work to remove the track and bring the seating forward began in May 2017 and was completed in October 2019 at a cost of €47 million, shared between the club, the Basque Government and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council. Capacity is now around 40,000, with scope to reach 42,300.</p><p>A record crowd of 36,730 attended the Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao in February 2020.</p>
