Description
Built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in east Manchester, the City of Manchester Stadium was converted for football and taken over by Manchester City in 2003, the pitch being lowered and a fourth stand added. Etihad Airways bought the naming rights in 2011.

The South Stand gained a third tier in 2015 and a matching North Stand expansion was completed for the end of the 2025-26 season, adding roughly 7,900 seats, a rooftop bar and a hotel. The enlarged stand was named after Pep Guardiola and lifts the ground to about 61,500, among the largest in England.
