Description
Bayer 04 Leverkusen's ground opened in 1958 as the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion, named after a Bayer executive, and took the BayArena name in 1998. It is owned by the Bayer group and sits near the company's chemical works.

Successive rebuilds removed the running track and closed the corners, and the 2007 to 2009 expansion added a translucent roof, a hotel built into the stand and conference facilities. Capacity is about 30,210 for Bundesliga matches and slightly lower for UEFA games, where terraces must be converted to seats, making it one of the smallest grounds in the Champions League.
