RC Strasbourg have played in the Meinau district since 1914, making this one of the oldest continuously used grounds in French football. Its compact stands and the Kop Sud make it one of Ligue 1's loudest venues.
A phased reconstruction begun in 2022 is lifting the ground from about 26,000 to a planned 32,300 seats, with the club playing on throughout the works. The new south stand is shaded by panels cut from the fuselages of decommissioned Airbus A340 aircraft. Costs have risen past 180 million euros and completion has slipped towards late 2026, so the working capacity meanwhile is lower.
