Sporting Clube da Covilhã's ground sits high on the slopes of the Serra da Estrela. Originally the Campo do Alto do Hospital, it was renamed after José Lopes dos Santos Pinto in 1940, formally inaugurated as a stadium in November 1950 and remodelled in 1985.
