About the Club
Royale Union Saint-Gilloise was formed in 1897 in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles and today plays at the Stade Joseph Marien, a compact and atmospheric ground tucked against the Duden park in neighbouring Forest. The club dominated Belgian football before the Second World War, assembling eleven championships between 1904 and 1935 and setting a national record of 60 league matches without defeat, a run that earned the side the tag "Union 60".
Decades in the lower divisions followed, until a rapid revival brought promotion back to the top flight in 2021. Union then won the Belgian Cup in 2024 and, in 2024-25, a twelfth league title after a wait of ninety years. A second cup triumph arrived in 2025-26.
The club competes in the Belgian Pro League and has recently played in the UEFA Champions League.
